Ari Benjamin Meyers, MFA graduate, premiers Tacet, an installation of performances, which lack the ‘fundamental’ characteristics of music, sound, and movement. It’s title, Tacet, refers to the Latin word tacere, a playing instruction in music which cues the instrumentalist to pause and remain silent during a marked interval. In this work, “the visitor enters a staged situation rather than an exhibition space.” They truly “become” part of the scenario.
This is Meyer’s first solo exhibition in Germany. It opens January 17th at 7 P.M., and is on exhibition through February.
