The Howardena Pindell: What Remains To Be Seen exhibition at the MCA Chicago offers a glimpse at Pindell’s illustrious five-decades-long career, offering pieces from, “early figurative paintings, pure abstraction and conceptual works, and personal and political art that emerged in the aftermath of a life-threatening car accident in 1979.” The exhibition has a truly diverse collection of Pindell’s work, from photography and painting to a screening of Free, White and 21, a performance for film.
Howardena Pindell is a Yale MFA graduate of the class of 1967.
