The 1969 Gallery is featuring Close Quarters: 8 Representational Painters, an exhibition of recent Yale MFA graduates. Keiran Brennan Hinton ’16MFA curated the exhibition. Brennan Hinton describes the collection as “works I admired and remembered after studio visits, especially pieces that came out from hiding because of an intuitive trust among artists.”
The gallery introduces the exhibition, “Sharing everyday life, meals and ideas can form deep, lasting bonds among a class of aspiring artists earning a Master of Fine Arts degree. When artists recommend, nominate or curate a fellow artist, they strengthen that bond — in quiet, personal moments generosity often prevails over artistic envy.”
The artists include Coady Brown ’16MFA, Keiran Brennan Hinton ’16MFA, Sarah Esme Harrison ’17MFA, Sarah Faux ’15MFA, Alex Jackson ’17MFA, Cindy Ji Hye Kim ’16MFA, Doron Langberg ’12MFA, and Dani Levine ’16MFA.
The works will be on display until August 6th.
