The Yale History of Art department, in collaboration with the Yale Alumni Art League and other entities, is hosting African Art in Motion, a symposium in memory of Prof. Robert Farris Thompson. It will take place from Thursday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 8 on the Yale campus.
An opening reception with live music, performed by Alma Moyo, will take place on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 7. The speaker program will take place on Friday, Sept. 8 on campus. All sessions will be recorded by Yale Broadcasting so that they can be viewed afterwards. It will not be livestreamed or a hybrid event on Zoom.
Information on confirmed speakers and the overall program, along with a registration link, will be available by the beginning of August.
