William T. Williams MFA’68 was nominated and won the 2018 Pratt Institute Legends Award. Williams graduated from the Pratt Institute in 1966 and soon continued his educational journey at Yale for the next two years. Williams, as an influential figurative painter, said he received inspiration from Richard Bove and that solidified his philosophical perspective as seen in his works: a deeply internal impulse to work from “intuition and memory rather than from observation.”
