I Can’t See You Without Me is Mickalene Thomas’ MFA’02 exhibition in the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. In the exhibit, you’ll find over 50 of Thomas’ works, from paintings to sculptures. Additionally, there will be the premier of Je t’aime trois, a collaborative effort with Terri Lyne Carrington, a Grammy-award-winning composer, comprised of a multichannel video display. Thomas’ works express her experience as a black woman in art and her discovery of such a rich lack of art history for black women. Her works also express her efforts to expand art to a greater audience and to celebrate women of color in the art world.
Mickalene Thomas is a Yale MFA graduate of 2002.
