Expanses is Sopheap Pich’s sixth exhibition with Tyler Rollins Fine Art Gallery. Expanses features floor-standing sculptures showcasing both “lightness” and “monumentality.” Pich’s works explore the Cambodian identity and Pich’s childhood experiences growing up in Cambodia.
Tyler Rollins, the owner of the gallery showcasing Expanses, is a Yale alumni who’s gallery focuses on contemporary art from the Indo-Pacific region, specifically Southeast Asia and Australia. Sopheap Pich’s exhibition is a perfect example of such works and continues in the gallery’s tradition.
The opening reception will be held Thursday, November 1, from 6-8 PM.
