On Sunday, January 22nd, Abelardo Morell ’81MFA was featured on the CBS Sunday Morning News. According to his website, Morell was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States in 1962 with his family. His photography has been displayed in museums across the nation.
The segment examines Morell’s technique of “camera obscura” which was frequently used during the Renaissance. In the interview Morell said, “Looking at the world through these little lenses maybe kind of brings you back to your first experiences of seeing, which were fabulous. As kids, everything kind of seems interesting – ‘A little light on the wall? Wow!’”
