Christina Quarles MFA’16 presents MATRIX 271 at BAMPFA. This showcase features paintings of Quarles’ from over the past few years. Her works, as stated by BAMPFA, are “largely informed by her own subjective experience in the world… her work exhibits a prevailing sense of ambiguity, particularly in relation to race, gender, and human relationships.” Her colorful paintings, filled with pastels and bright emotions, often explore complex and, occasionally and juxtapositionally, dark topics.
MATRIX 271 will be on display at BAMPFA through November.
